Title: Because Of Mr. Terupt
Year: 2016-2017
Author: Rob Buyea

This book is about seven kids-Jeffrey, Peter, Luke, Danielle, Alexia, Jessica, and Anna, who attend Snow Hill School, and are all thrown into Mr. Terupt’s fifth-grade class. They have never really gotten along, or really noticed each other much. Jeffrey doesn’t care about school, or home, or pretty much anything. Peter is the class clown and loves having a good laugh. Luke is the smart one, who loves math and science, and pretty much every subject. Danielle lives on a farm and is always teased because of her big size. Alexia is the popular one, who has many friends and always wants to be the boss. Jessica loves theater and writing and is new to Snow Hill School. Anna is very shy and stays out of everyone’s way. These students have barely anything in common. None of the teachers had ever paid attention to them. But Mr. Terupt is different; he notices things. He notices Alexia isn’t always the nicest person ever. He notices Peter never really means harm when he causes trouble. He also notices that Anna is actually very smart, except she never speaks up. So he tries to bring all of these seven students together. Then, one day, a terrible accident causes Mr. Terupt to get into a coma. He is no longer there to make sure that Alexia, Peter, Luke, Anna, Jessica, Danielle, and Jeffrey get along. They must remember the lessons Mr. Terupt taught them, or their lives will go back to the way they were before Mr. Terupt.

This is a great book, full of twists and turns, and humor and sadness. It is a perfect mix of everything, and it makes you never want to stop reading it. It is by far one of the best and most meaningful books I have read in my life.

Genre: Realistic Fiction
Recommendation: Yes, I would definitely recommend this book to others
