This book is about Sophie, a girl who was in a shipwreck on her first birthday. A man named Charles found Sophie floating in a cello case in the water. He decided to adopt her. So Sophie lived the first twelve years of her life with Charles. One day, people from the orphanage say that Charles isn’t taking care of Sophie like a lady, and they say that they need to take her to the orphanage. However, Sophie does not want to leave Charles. So they both go to Paris, hoping to find Sophie’s mother who had probably died in the shipwreck. At Paris, Sophie meets kids who live on the rooftops of Paris, and together they try to find Sophie’s mother, for she is the only chance for saving Sophie.

This book is amazing, and it is the best OBOB book I have read so far. I didn’t want to put it down. It is pretty long, a little over 250 pages, but since it was so awesome, I finished it in two days. Great book.

Genre: Realistic Fiction
Recommendation: Yes, I would totally recommend this book to others.
